Monitoring and maintenance
The hydroEngine system is designed for a 30 year project life, with maintenance on the powertrain every 3 to 5 years, depending on capacity factor and operating net head on the unit.
All hydroEngine parts that require periodic maintenance are contained in a removable cassette housed in an engine case, making maintenance simple and fast.
The Fully Flooded model can be removed either from the top or from the side (see image below, top left), the Free Jet model from the top (see image below, bottom left).

SCADA user interface
The hydroEngine monitoring system uses industry standard PLC and SCADA hardware and software. The scalable plant database system allows the plant operator to monitor the health of the machine and quickly detect any system fault.
